Aeronatical Collage

Aviation has been woven into the fabric of my life for over three decades, shaping not only my career but my visual vocabulary and creative perspective. This fascination with flight—the engineering, the aesthetics, the cultural significance of commercial aviation—naturally found its way into my photographic practice.

The concept for this project emerged after encountering another artist's work that incorporated aircraft imagery and commercial airline ephemera. Their approach sparked something in me, revealing a creative opportunity to merge my professional experience with my artistic vision. I realized I could create a visual narrative that was deeply personal yet universally recognizable, using the iconography of commercial aviation as my medium.

My technical process involved curating and assembling images from my 36-year tenure as a flight attendant, selecting photographs and visual elements that each carry specific memories and connections to different chapters of my aviation history. Each aircraft type, airline livery, and configuration represents history, routes, and experiences from my career.

Through careful composition and arrangement, I've built a visual archive that functions both as personal memoir and as broader commentary on the commercial aviation industry's evolution over nearly four decades. The project continues to grow as my relationship with aviation deepens, documenting an industry and career that will always remain central to my identity and creative output.

This body of work represents the intersection of professional life and artistic practice—proof that our daily experiences, no matter how routine they may seem, contain rich material for visual storytelling.
